We offer a wide selection of Hida's finest local sake, perfectly suited to the season.
Hida's pure water and the harsh winters of Takayama have made it a thriving center for sake brewing since ancient times.
Just as each region has its own culture and tradition, sake also varies in characteristics and flavor depending on the area.
Sake brewed in Hida, using the majestic groundwater of the Northern Alps, rice grown in rich soil, and a cold climate ideal for sake brewing, is characterized by its fine texture, crispness, and rich umami flavor.
As a souvenir, we carry a wide selection of sake from Tenryo Shuzo, a brewery that produces "Tenryo" sake and was founded in the Hida region in northern Gifu Prefecture.
A key feature is their full utilization of natural resources from the local Hida region, including "Hidahomare," a sake rice grown in Gifu Prefecture in collaboration with local contract farmers.
Not only for "Tenryo," but for all of Tenryo Shuzo's sake, they use high-quality sake rice.
They also use only natural water, an essential element of sake brewing, and the brewery claims that their 100% use of sake rice and natural water is the highest in the prefecture.
Another characteristic is their use of diverse yeasts, including "flower yeast" collected from natural flowers. Their
meticulously crafted sake boasts one of the highest shipment rates in the prefecture.
These are exceptional products that could only be made in Hida, surrounded by pristine water and abundant nature.
Why not try Hida's famous water-based sake as a souvenir or for your own enjoyment?
